How does fertility change with the age?

0 August 13, 2015

A woman’s fertility Begins to decline in her early to mid-thirties. This is different from woman to woman.

Women often lose their capacity to conceive years before they have the first indications of menopause.

Fertility

This gradual change in fertility is generally due to a decrease in the number and quality of eggs in your ovaries. The loss of eggs begins even before you are born. An unborn female has 6 to 7 million eggs; at birth she has 1 to 2 million; by menopause, only a few hundred remain. The condition of your eggs also changes as you age; they have an advanced rate of chromosomal irregularities, which improves your chances of early miscarriages.

There are also non-ovarian factors. As you get older, you are more likely to have experienced other medical problems – such as endometriosis, fibroids, tubal disease or polyps – which can reduce your fertility.

The end point of an IVF treatment cycle is an embryo; and an IVF lab will successfully create many embryos in the lab for most of their patients.

IVF

When the number of embryos to transfer is determined inside the laboratory, an embryologist will check all identifiers, such as your name, identification number, and compare them to the embryo culture dish and resultant egg datasheet. The transfer catheter is loaded with the suitable number of embryos. Upon entering the transfer room, the embryologist will state your last name and the number of embryos in the catheter. You will be able to view the process on a screen in the exam room and see the embryos as they are nominated.

There’s a pictorial representation of embryos, so you can appreciate what your embryos are meant to look like.

Embryologist require for every IVF clinic

The fact is that the core of the IVF clinic is the lab – and the star of the IVF lab is the embryologist.

For women

Step 1: You & your Egg donor (known or anonymous) are given medicine to synchronize your menstrual cycles and you (Recipient) are given medication(Estrogen) to prepare the endometrium lining of your uterus for embryo transfer.
